Confession: I’m a bit of a nerd. I love museums, history, the arts. I hold a minor in archaeology. I get excited about learning. So, yeah maybe I’m actually a BIG nerd.Given that, when I travel, you’ll often find me strolling the halls of world renowned institutions and searching for small local galleries.
Arriving in China’s largest city, I was eager uncontrollably giddy to check out the famed Shanghai Museum.
And man, was I blown away; the collection, the curation, the layout.

Thousand Buddhist Stele Stone (Northern Zhou A.D. 557-581) |
Truth be told, I liked the Shanghai Museum more than the Louvre and more than the Hermitage. Whoa.
So, if you’re planning on visiting Shanghai, I strongly recommend adding this gem to your Must See list!
I should like to spend the whole of my life in travelling abroad, if I could anywhere borrow another life to spend afterwards at home.
