USA Road Trip: The End of the Road

Front Royal, Virginia to Washington DC
99 Miles
(See what happened along the way: Day 1Day 2Day 3Day 4 and Day 5)
Though we were so so close to DC, our night in Front Royal provided some much needed rest.  As we headed east into DC in the morning we got a taste of rush hour traffic.  Luckily we got to use the carpool lane which probably save us about a hour in the car.
Once in the city, I picked up my keys and got a tour of my new place (which I LOVE)!  I’m in the Logan Circle neighborhood and am close to everything I could possibly need.
Diana and I unpacked the van (hot mess pretty much sums up the state of the vehicle at that point) and got right to sorting through everything.
While I adore my new apartment, there are a few quirks that have yet to be resolved.  Like a broken valve on the heater = no heat = the place is the approximate temperature of a meat locker.
We spend a lot of time wrapped up in blankets
Indoor apparel
And the fact that the only place I can blow-dry my hair without killing power to the whole unit is in the kitchen. Still waiting on the stove and oven to get up and running too.  And I have no furniture yet, sans an AeroBed.
Basically, I’ve been spending a fair amount of time outside of the apartment.  But in a city with so much to do, I certainly am not complaining!
Welcome to DC!
