East Coast Living: The Neighborhood

In February, I packed up a minivan, drove across the country and relocated to Washington, DC.

Its two months later and I have a minor love affair with my new neighborhood, Logan Circle.

Pretty much everything about it makes me smile.

Its residential and cozy, but is only blocks from main shopping streets.

There are little quirks,

and lovely tree lined streets with cafes and restaurants tucked into row house basements.

The row houses are stunning; each with its own personality.

Five minutes away is a busy dog park where Dixon has made many a dog-friend.

He likes to lounge at home too!

There’s a sizable Salvadorian population in the neighborhood and I love listening to the old men bicker in front of the bodega down the street and gorging myself on papuasas and tamals at El Rinconcito Cafearound the corner.

Logan Circle’s proximity to other areas of the city is ideal.  Its a short walk to Downtown, the Mall, Chinatown, U Street, Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle and is only five minutes from a metro stop.

Sunday mornings are a bustle of activity as folks dressed in their finest stream in and out of churches that seems to be on nearly every corner.

Each time I walk around Logan Circle I find something new to explore.  Its unlike anywhere I’ve ever lived before and to me, that’s the best part!

Am also a huge fan of the t-minus 15 min walk that exists between our front doors. Just saying..!

Haha, I suppose I should have mentioned that considering living close to you was the ONE non-negotiable when I was looking for a place to live!
