Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jackson, Tennessee
587 Miles
After not getting back to the hotel the night before until 5am, we decided to sleep in a bit before hitting the road.
As we were loading the car however, we realized that Mushi was no longer in the hotel room. She had darted out the door. An hour of searching and we still couldn’t find her.
We left her picture with the motel staff and hopefully she’ll end up in a shelter were they can scan her micro-chip. I’ve had Mushi since college and am sick with worry for her. But she was an alley cat to start, so I know she’s tough.
We got back on the road and blew through the rest of Oklahoma. Arkansas was uneventful as a whole .
As we crossed the Mississippi River into Memphis we had Marc Cohn’s Walking in Memphis blaring.
A short detour south of the city center and we found ourselves at the gates of Graceland! It was too late to take a tour, but we got a great view from the roof of the van.
Our intention was grab dinner at a restaurant in downtown overlooking the river, but nothing was open. We settled on dinner at a Cracker Barrel just outside of town for some southern cooking.
Turnip greens, pinto beans and corn bread
Pushing onward, we stayed the night in Jackson, Tenn.
